River Cruise from Passau - want to visit Salzburg

Hello,

We will be booked on a river cruise from Passau, Germany in June. Before our cruise, we plan visit Prague for 3 days. We also want to see Salzburg before our cruise. We are currently planning to fly into Prague but we can change to Munich if that works better. The plan is to visit Salzburg after Prague and before taking our cruise from Passau or to fly into to Munich, visit Salzburg and then head over to Prague and then back to Passau to board our river cruise. Just trying to streamline everything and pick the most efficient route but I'm not familiar with the train schedules or other public transportation yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What route is your cruise taking? It may be better to visit one before your cruise and the other at the end. Consider flying into Prague, home from Munich (or vice versa) depending on that route.

Great resources for train travel and other info:
https://int.bahn.de/en
Seat61.com for all things trains
Rome2rio.com for transport options (bus, car, etc.)
