Riva del Garda

We are going to Riva in September and I would like as much information as possible. We are doing everything first class and someone told me to stay at the Hotel Sole.Is it the best hotel at the lake? I would welcome restaurant and hotel suggestions.

We just back on Saturday, and even tho we were planning an overnight in Riva, we ended up at Sirmione which was wonderful - We had a beautiful lakeside room. If you do a search on this forum, lots of people recommend the Europa on the waterfront in Riva.

Marc, I have stated in Riva 3 times and
love the location. My fav is the Sole,
a nice 4 star in the best location on
the Lake, but the downside is the noise
level until after 2300 at nite. You are
in the middle of all the action there
and the town will be crowded with German
tourists in Sep. The Europa is also
decent---a 3 star about 100 meters from
the Sole---both are on the marina near
the boat departures for lake trips.
Be sure to drive ALL THE WAY till you have to turn south at the extreme NW
corner of the Lake---the lot for the
ferry boats is right there, as are both
of these hotels. Stay at the north end.
Sirmione is too touristy and the scenery
at the north end is spectacular.

Hi Marc ! I'm a young northern italian boy ... and I live in Riva del Garda !
And ... the director of Hotel Sole is a my dear friend !
Hotel Sole is quite luxury and beautiful ... if you don't have many money-problems this ist the best : in the old city-center , near the harbour .
And the Rivas Basin ( a beautiful valley or plain ) is super ! lake ... hill ... mounts ... all here !
And september ist the best time : the german aren't so much as in july and august , and the weather ist mild and quite sunny ( I'm a meteorologist ... )

For other info , write me
Ciao !
