resturant

Does anyone know anything about a resturant <BR>called La Taverne du Sergent Recruteur. <BR>It is located at 4l Rue St Louis - en-I'Isle <BR>A freind lived in Paris many years ago and <BR>highly recommended it. However, I do not <BR>have any current information. Any help would <BR>be greatly appreciated. <BR>Thanks

It is still listed as open according <BR>to the last Travel and Leisure Guide to Paris and is recommended. If you'd like me to look up specific info on it in the guidebook, I'd be happy to. Email me. <BR>

One of the long threads on where to eat in Paris mentions this place (the poster had a good time there, as I recall, but said it was touristy). Have you tried searching? I think she reffered to it by its English translation--the Sargeant Recruiter's Tavern. <BR>Sorry to be so vague

martha, good memory! I searched under Sergeant and found it. Two different mentions by the same person in August 98; he liked it very much. Said it was prix fixe, moderate price, historic building, and that the waiters were entertaining. <BR>b, if you need anything from the guidebook let me know. <BR>
