I stayed in an apartment in the 5th last year and enjoyed the following:
Le Petit Prince de Paris, 12, rue de Lanneau, 01 43 54 77 26
Les Fetes Galantes, 17 rue de l'ecole polytechnique, 01 43 26 10 40
Au Petit Marguery, 9 bvd. de Port-Royal, 01 43 31 58 59 (This is in the 13th, but not far from the bottom of rue Mouffetard)
Chantairelle, 17 rue Laplace, 01 46 33 18 59
There is a roving market at Place Monge on Sunday and one or two other days a week.
There are plenty of food shops on rue Mouffetard, which is a permanent market street.

Right on Mouffetard there is a section - maybe near Rue Jean Calvin that has 6 or 7 decent restaurants. We have eaten in a couple of them. Also on Saint Jacques toward the Seine from the Pantheon (or it might be the street between Ste Jacques & Ste Michel) there is a good Moroccan place. And a hole in the wall creperie near or at the intersection of Monge & St Germaine that was really good.
