I lived in Lugano for 6 months during an exchange program in College. There is a great restaurant called La Tinera located just off the main piazza in downtown Lugano (the piazza near the large fountain). It is on a side street and you have to walk down stairs to get there. If you go to the piazza and ask someone where it is, they should be able to help you out.
It is a casual place and I recommend the minestrone zuppe.
Good Luck!
Also, if you want to see an old Roman foot bridge in a beautiful setting, go to one of the offices of tourism and ask how to get to Valle VerScaza.

Don't look now, Andrew. He's already been there and gone. His request was for a September trip that he requested in August.
I sure hope he found somewhere good. Eating in Switzerland is about as exciting as eating in Germany or Austria. I'm happy he is able to eat in *** or **** resturants. They probably feature French or Italian fare. Otherwise he would have to tell the Swiss waiter how many rolls he has eaten so he could be charged accordingly.
