Restaurants in Prague

We will be in Prague for four days. Any recommendations for good (not expensive) restaurants? Hope to be located in the center of town

You can check the restaurants list provided by this web site.

Hogo Fogo?? It's closed or moved! We were there in May 2000 and found there's no this restaurant in that small alley any more! If there's anyone know about it, plz also post to let us know.

Chez Marcel is good though it's French cuisine not Czech food.

U Fleku: Do go to. (better at Fri and Sat, 'cause more people will be more ) If you like to taste their beer and animated atmosphere.

Concerts: Everywhere in almost each church! The ticket price for the concerts is about 300-450 czk (appro.) for 1.5 hr. St. James chapel has good sound effect. You can also choose some other churchs which aren't opened to the public usually.

After living there for 1.5 years, these were my favs:

For Pizza, try Kogo Havelska 27, Prague 1; Tel: 302 1048; Open: Daily. 11.00-24.00 or PIZZERIA KMOTRA V jircharich 12, Prague 1; Tel: 2491 5809
Open: Daily. 11.00-01.00

For Italian Tuscan-style, try IL RITROVO SPAGHETERIA Lublanska 11, Prague 2; Tel:296 529; Open: Mon.-Sat. 12.00-15.00, 18.00-24.00. Even though this isn't exactly in the center, it isn't too far out and the food is worth the trip! From what I understand, when Tom Cruise was there filming Mission Impossible I, he and Nicole dined there a couple of times. There is even pictures of them with the owners on the walls. I remember the basic meal being around $6 - $8... This was 2.5 years ago.

For yummy fish, try Kampa Park on Kampa Island. Great location and ambiance! Price might be higher than what you are looking for here. The mahi-mahi is my fav.

For Mexican try RED HOT + BLUES Jakubska 12, Prague 1; Tel: 231 4639
Open: Daily. 9.00 - 23.00.

Again, not in the center, but always reliable RADOST FX CAFE Belehradska 120, Prague 2; Open: 11.30 - 04.00. Vegetarian restaurant that even my husband really likes! Mix of foods, salads, pasta, chili, nachos, etc.

For other recommendations, and ideas on Czech cuisine, see http://www.praguesite.cz/new/eating/...html
