Restaurants in Amsterdam

I am traveling to Amsterdam this summer and I am looking for some great restaurants. I would like to eat fondue (and pancakes) while I am there. I also am looking for a nice restaurant for dinner. And also a restaurant at Leidseplein. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Our favorite pancake restaurant is het Singeltje, located at Singel 494, across from the Flower Market. It's a small restaurant, very quaint, good pancakes (I favor banana, my husband chocolate). It's a good place for lunch.

My favorite restaurant for dinner is Nan Kee, Zeedijk 111, in the Chinatown section. They have great chinese food. Nothing fancy about the restaurant itself, just good food. I can't imagine being in Amsterdam and not stopping by to eat their Tappan Noodles with Chicken & Vegetables...YUM!

You shouldn't have any problem finding places to eat in Amsterdam, except that there is so many different types of cuisine to choose from. Have a wonderful journey. Peace.

Bag the fondue, you want pancakes!
We loved the Pancake Bakery on the Prisengracht just 2 blocks north of the Anne Frank Haus. (Got to the latter in the early evening to avoid the lines...and then walk up to the Pancake Bakery and sooth your soul with "pannenkoeken mit" ham and apples!

I just came back from Switzerland and because of several fondue is only eaten in Winter comments seen here over the past several weeks by the more RIGID and anal-retentive amongst us, I asked my Swiss friends about that.
The expression on their faces told me everything: you can eat it whenever and wherever you want (although they really do think they make the best ones) so enjoy it if you can find it in A-Dam....don;t worry, nobody here is going to be looking over your shoulder and wagging their finger, much less trying to get some of it for nothing!
