Restaurant for large group in Rome

We are a large group (32) who will be spending a few days in Rome following a celebration cruise, Any recommendations for a good Italian home cooking restaurant or experience that we could reserve ahead? We will all be staying in different areas so it does not matter where it it located in Rome, jut yummy food, not too fancy or expensive
Graci'

Yikes, home cooking for 32, not too fancy....

You certainly need to book and with those numbers....
Any dietery needs?
Any weird times to eat (eg 5:30pm)?
I can think on one place in St Pietro next to the Vatican which specialises in feeding large numbers of clerics.
You might do better looking for a buffet. You can search under "buffet"

"Grazie" might be better

The "home cooking" restaurants I know don't serve anywhere near that number. With such a large group, you definitely need to reserve well in advance, and they may ask you to choose a standard menu for the group, maybe with a choice, like the "beef or chicken" at a wedding.

I'm afraid I can't recommend a suitable restaurant in Rome. I mostly eat in small restaurants.

Ristorante La Carbonara can be a good option for you. This restaurant has been serving traditional Roman cuisine for more than a century and their prices are very reasonable.

Can you provide a link as that name is pretty common.

We've eaten at a restaurant with that name in Campo de' Fiori. In my memory it was good-not-great but probably not big enough for a party that large. Seating capacity is one thing, but the ability to prep and serve that many dishes at the same time requires a larger kitchen and lots of wait staff which this place didn't have when we were there. If you ordered a set menu for the group, that would help a bit but probably wouldn't satisfy everyone.

tbbeach, if you're staying in a hotel in Rome, ask them for recommendations. If your hotel has a restaurant, you might see if it could handle this dinner. In any event, I think you'll need to consider a hotel restaurant. "Not too fancy or expensive" is too vague. You need to know what people are willing to spend and how you're going to deal with the bill at the end of the meal, how to deal with those who order alcohol and those who don't, etc.

Years ago I was with a group of around 20 at Da Meo Patacca in Trastevere. It's a very large place with both indoor and outdoor seating, and has been open at least since the early sixties. As you can see from the photos, the atmosphere is casual. The current reviews on Yelp are all over the place with regard to the food, but it could be a possibility for your large group.

Good luck!

I managed to read a few of these reviews, even though Yelp kept trying to force me to install their app. As soon as I saw the "live music" featuring "authentic Italian songs", I knew it was a tourist trap. However a lot of people enjoyed it. They would probably require you to get a set menu.

You can also check Google reviews which I find to be a bit more realistic than Yelp these days.. just Google Da Meo Patacca.

The photos there do show a place that looks good for big groups, especially outside. I bet a lot of tour groups end up there.. but sometimes it is about being together and not haute cuisine, right?

I bet Emma could accommodate your group..we liked it so much that we ate. there twice in a week last time in Rome.
Reasonable and they have many many dishes plus great pizzas.......

One of the Roscioli's supposedly crested the crust recipe.

Also, look at this they say they have private rooms and prices are reasonable, too me, anyway..what is the pp budget? Saying "not too expensive: does not really narrow things down.
I would think it would have to be a minimum of 50 euro per person w/o alcohol in a "nice" restaurant but I am no expert and have never rented a private rpm anywhere..
