Reply about La Chiusa and Hotel Navona

In response to the two different inquiries, I just returned from Italy 2 wks ago and stayed at both these hotels. La Chiusa is beautiful, quiet, and immaculate. Our room was quite large. The inn is quaint and has pretty flower gardens.

Hotel Navona, while in a good location, does NOT look like the pictures on the web AT ALL. If you want a cheap place in a good locale and do not mind dustballs, peeling wallpaper and dingy towels, it is ok. I would have preferred to pay more money and had a cleaner place.

Thanks for responding XXXX. Would you recommend La Chiusa for a young married couple looking for a romantic few days? Are the bathrooms modern or rustic? I really appreciate all your help.

I would recommend the inn for you. The staff is very professional and acomodating. It is about a 5 minute walk from the hamlet (center)which is very small and quiet and just what you picture when you dream of Tuscany. Our bathroom was huge(almost as big as a room in Venice) with tile and brick but had modern fixtures including hairdryers. The only drawback with the bathroom is mine had a huge soaking tub but a hand held shower(you pulled it out of the faucet and held it) which was hard to get used to. The rooms are rustic with dried flowers and lace curtains but have phones, minibars and tv. I saw where the other place mentioned is and it is right on the main street of the hamlet and also looked very nice and has a better view. Probably LaChiusa is more private, but again, the town is very quiet, anyway.
