We rented our car for Tuscany through Hertz a few weeks ago. They had a deal on their site offering free rental of a cell phone through cellhire.com
We had to pay $10 shipping plus $10 for the phone return. I requested an Italian SIm so that all calls received in Italy were free. We had the phone and number before our trip so that we could give the number out before leaving the States. Then we just paid for any calls we made.\
It worked out great.
