Renting a Scooter in Florence... itineraries?

Hi. We will be renting a scooter in Florence and wanted to see some of the countryside. Is there much to see in Fiesole? Which winery would you recommend touring?

Any advice would help.
Merci,
Sabinagal

Sabina,

Vespas aren't as easy as the Italians make them look. Have you driven one before, or very often?

A co-worker just came back from Greece with facial stiches and a broken nose (yes, she was wearing a helmet.)

We rented scooters for our two early 20's sons when we were in Florence and they had a wonderful time riding around the city and no casualties. They had no experience and started out in less travelled parts of the city but were zipping around like the locals before we left. According to them it looked a lot more frightening looking on that it was once they got into the traffic and started driving. This was a highlight of their trip and they still talk about it years later. Let us know how it works out for you.

Sounds like fun.

Go on the wine road to Verrazzano Castle and its wine cellar. Also Radda in Chianti, the seat of the Gallo Nero region.

Fiesole is nice, there is a Roman ampitheater, museum, restaurants, good views.
