Renting a car LHR-easiest place to return in London
Flying into LHR at night in April and staying at LHR overnight and renting a car to go to the Cotswolds than returning to London with a stay in Holborn area. Any recommendations for hotel at LHR and where best to drop off car in London? We usually stay at Hilton T2 when we fly off in the am but open to other options perhaps close to Europacar.

Any LHR hotel will be fine - the ones along the Bath Road are closest to the rental cars.
Then just drop the car back at LHR. Much easier traffic-wise (and cheaper due to the congestion charges). Then you can take the Piccadilly Line from LHR to Holborn Station -- or -- the Elizabeth Line to Bond Street and Central Line to Holborn

Agree that returning the car to LHR is the best idea. Two reasons we used to do that - at Heathrow, the car rental companies are open longer hours, weekends etc, also transport to get back into London is easy.

Thanks. I was thinking along those same lines but wondered about other options. Has been a long time since iIhave taken the tube into the city. Always use Just airports. Fortunately the Holborn tube stop is very close to where we are staying and is on the Piccadilly line.

JustAirports is still good -- rates have gone up a fair bit due to congestion charge etc. but they are still cheaper than most any other car service. If you aren't loaded down with luggage the Tube to Holborn is OK. There are escalators but also about 20 steps.
