Hi Gina,
Yes, I just kept pressing the "continue" button - Firefox kept saying that opening a new window so that I could print the Renfe ticket was not secure - and considering all the hassles I've had with Renfe, I can half-believe that.
But keep trying, I have no idea why I was finally able to buy a ticket that one time when it didn't work all the other times - and I didn't do anything differently. If I was eventually able to get a ticket, you should be able to, too.
Good luck and keep trying!

packman,
I had that same problem a while back. When I printed my pdf file it failed to print the train and seat numbers, date, station, etc.
So I transfered the file to another computer and used another printer, and it printed just fine.
If that doesn't work for you, you can always use a self service kiosk at any major rail station in Spain. Punch in your localizer number OR swipe the c.c. you used for your purchase, and it will spit out your tickets.
This week has been very frustrating as Renfe is in the process of loading their summer schedules. Here are some of my own frustrations:
Today when looking for a Madrid-Segovia AVANT train for late June, the train appeared up until June 20, then on June 21, all AVANTs disappeared (they hadn't been loaded onto the system yet)
When searching for the Seville-Córdoba AVANT, it appeared for June 18, but on June 19, it appeared but with a red message indicating tickets couldn't be purchased. Then for June 21, the AVANTs completely disappeared.
Today, May 6, the Madrid-Toledo AVANTs can only be booked up to June 20, although IN THEORY trains can be booked online 60 days out. Again, they haven't been loaded yet.
Also I use a mac which makes things more difficult.
The new "seat selection" feature appears to me on Safari , but it won't work-just gives me a question mark.
When using Firefox or Opera, the seat selection feature appears for one second, then it disappears. So I tried using IE on a nearby pc and discovered that the feature works well.
Just a few of the many kinks lately in the system. I also pull my hair out at this time of year with www.renfe.es

Hi Gina,
I wish I could tell you that it's all sorted out by June 1, but that hasn't been my experience. I've sometimes had to wait to purchase a July Madrid-Pamplona until June 15 (or later) when those schedules finally get loaded. Now, that has been extremely frustrating since I have folks depending on me for their tickets. But the schedule loading system may be faster this spring/summer. Who knows???
Hi Shanti,
Because I used a mac and Firefox to purchase my most recent tickets, the "seat selection" feature didn't pop up, so I couldn't use it. But again, I just did a dummy booking on a pc with IE and I could have chosen my seat. This seat selection option has only been in existence for a couple of weeks.

Shanti,
Forgot to mention that the new seat selection feature is available for all the high speed trains and the long distance lines, but it's NOT yet available on the Madrid-Segovia, Madrid-Valladolid trains. That will come some time in the future (??)

Hi Maribel,
I booked two selections and one was both long-distance & high-speed (Cordoba-Madrid) but I used Firefox so I wasn't offered a seat selection. But, honestly, I'm just happy I was finally able to make the reservation and don't mind that I couldn't choose a seat.
