RENFE Office at Madrid airport?
Does anyone know whether there is a Renfe office at the Madrid airport?
If there is, I am interested in knowing the location of the office. We will be arriving on
Aer Lingus from Washington DC, presumably at the internationa arrivals terminal. I assume that the RENFE will be in a different terminal.
Since we don't have a credit card issued by a Spanish bank, I assume that we will have to pay for our tickets in cash. Has anyone paid by debit card? We have a debit card issued by Bank of America.
Your input is appreciated.

Pat, Robert2533 is totally up to date on the office location and on using the credit cards--he posted on this in April 06. Do a search for his name and then for the post title: "Madrid airport to Atocha Renfe via Metro". There's some other good info on that old post.
And if we're lucky, Robert will see your post and tell you himself anything you want to know. I know that he wrote yesterday he had been able to buy tickets with his American credit card online in the last week.

Thanks AlessandraZoe!
There is a ticket office in both terminals T4 and T1, but not in T4S where the international flights arrive. You take the people mover to T4, the main terminal. You will find all of the information you need on the Madrid-Barajas airport on the offical web site: www.aena.es. Choose your language and pick the airport from the list on the left side of the page.
The Renfe office in T4 is located to your left as you leave the arrivals area and before leaving the terminal. There are ATM machines in the same area. You're better off using a credit card if you want to purchase tickets at the Renfe ticket window, out use the ATM to obtain cash, but why not purchase the ticket online before you leave?
You shouldn't have any problem using your BofA VISA card once it is verified. MasterCard seems to be having a bit of a problem on the Renfe site. Be sure to notify the bank that you will be buying the tickets so that they do not block the purchase. You also need to notify the bank that you will be using your credit card and ATM cards in Spain, otherwise they could be blocked while you're in Spain, which can be a problem.
I hope this helps.

Yes, this is very helpful. Thankyou Robert2533 and Alessandra Zoe for taking the time to answer my questions. I appreciate it. I will try to get the tickets online but the string of
comments about the difficulties of doing so make me think that I need to get them when I get there. I also may try to purchase the senior discount card for the RENFE trains before I purchase them. That way, I would be able to get some discount for the trains.
