What does remark-A mean in the schengen visa issued by portugal embassy.?

A type A visa is a transit visa. I don't know if that is what you mean.

type-C - multi entry , and remarks column has 'A" ,issued by portugal ,what does this remark mean.

Schengen visas aren't issued by "Schengen" - they are issued by one specific country within the Schengen zone. So that means this particular visa was issued by Portugal.

It's difficult for those from countries which receive automatic visas to reply to your question. Americans, Canadians, etc., never run into this problem.

Wouldn't it make more sense to ask the embassy? It is very, very unlikely that anyone posting here has ever seen such a visa.
