Regusa in Sicily -- any experiences

I would like to plan a trip to Sicily and Regusa seemed appealing and a little less touristy, but I'd like feedback. Going with my mother and 9 year old son.

We spent a night in Ragusa. The old town is fairly small, though there is a larger modern city above it. The old city was lovely to walk around in but we felt that a day was more than enough. For more see

Ragusa is lovely, but I agree that one day is plenty. Siracusa, although more popular, is a great place for a base as there are plenty of things to see/do/eat in Siracusa/Ortygia as well as in the surrounding region.

How long are you planning to spend in Sicily? What are you interested in seeing/experiencing?

Consider Noto as an alternative -- lovely, especially after day-trippers leave -- and almost no tourists after that.
