Registration/ Missing Files?

The registration issue is not that important as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully, some of the nasty people who post hateful replies under the guise of unknown identify will leave here and find other fields to trample.
What I'm concerned about is what is going to happen to the WEALTH of information that is on this webite. I have spent literally hours searching, cutting and pasting information for my upcoming trip in March.
BUT, I'm also looking forward to planning a trip to Scotland in September. I can't imagine not being able to access this pertinent and helpful information on this board.
I've noticed thatFodor's has not archived any messages for a couple of weeks. And I'm afraid that is because nothing will be archived when the registration procedure is mandated.
I've only enjoyed this board for several months so I don't know what is in store. Does anyone know what will happen to the archives after registration is mandatory?

I can't imagine the archives will go away. This site would be almost useless without them!

<< I've noticed that Fodor's has not archived any messages for a couple of weeks. >>

On any given day in the past 2-3 years, this statement was usually true - - except for the few days following their bi-monthly (or rare) updates to the indexing database.

Best wishes,

Rex
Have you considered the Fodors staff may have been busy setting up the registration process rather than indexing?? After all it has been several weeks in the pipeline.

Updating the indexing for the database could conceivably be somewhat time-consuming in terms of "machine time", but it should not consume staff time more than about 15 minutes. At least as I understand it.
