Redwoods
i moved to san diego a couple of years ago...so i have a lot of exploring to do out west...i have seven days off next week..i was thinking about getting in my car and going to see the redwoods....any advice.....i'm not a hiker, but i've heard it's amazing place to see...i'm driving up the entire coast...so any suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance

Another vote for the Muir Woods just North of San Francisco. Very impressive trees with a high density and a very relaxing atmosphere very close to the city.

There are gobs of places to see redwoods in the Santa Cruz mountains. Big Basis is really great - there are other parks like Butano and Portola that are good too. Further south, along the Big Sur coast you will find some. Limekiln state park has some good second growth. If you want to see loads of old growth trees, head up to Humboldt County - this might be a little further than you were thinking though.
