Reduced Shakepeare Company

Has anyone attended performances of the Reduced Shakepeare Company? I purchased a ticket to see the Complete Works of Shakepeare - Abridged while I'm in London. It sounds like it will be very entertaining. My ticket says "Section Stalls, Row A, Seat 13". I think that's on the front row. Has anyone been to the Criterion and know for sure?

The only time I've ever been to the theatre at all was to see "Red, White, and Tuna" and this sounds like the same sort of light hearted show.

This is a great show. You'll love it even it you don't know Shakespeare.

Stalls, Row A sure does sound like front row... You can get seating plans on any of these sites I believe:

www.ticketmaster.co.uk
www.offi ciallondontheatre.co.uk
www.londontheatre.com
London is a great theatre town. Try going to the 1/2 price ticket booth in Leischester Square.

You will have a great time. Not "High" theatre but very, very funny. Beware - there is a ceratin amount of audience participation/involvement and being in the front row means you may end up on stage.

I've seen them twice, and yes, it's very funny! I'm a literature graduate, so probably got more of the little subtleties than some others who didn't know as much Shakespeare, but it's very enjoyable nonetheless. Yes, if you are in the front row, there may be some audience participation - watch out for the water (at one performance I was at, anyway)!
Hope you enjoy it.

I must add that I never really "got" Shakespeare when I was in school.

A few years ago, decided to master my aversion and picked up a wonderful book called "The Friendly Shakespeare" by Norrie Epstein. I almost never read non-fiction for leisure but found myself absolutely fascinated by this book. Read it cover to cover on a camping trip!! Might be a great book for the flight over.
