Recommendations for Peloponnese hotels
My husband and I will be in Greece in May. We have been to Athens and islands many times but never the Peloponnese (except for Olympia)
Looking for hotel and restaurant recommendations. Here is what I am considering. Hotels were picked mainly for balconies with sea views.
Nafplio (4 nights)- would like a hotel with balcony. Considering Hotel Agammemnon as balcony has sea view, Carpe Diem Boutique or any others??
Monemvasia (2 nights) - Hotel Ardamis as it has a sea view balcony
Aeropoli/Limeni (Mani) - (2 nights) - Petra Kai Fos Boutique Hotel and Spa, Lumeni Village not available.
Pylos/Gialova (3 nights) - Karalis Beach hotel. (Fodor's fav: Zoe Resort has a no cancellation policy so will not consider it now)
Also do historical sites have day guides available when you arrive or do we arrange beforehand. (Mystras, Ancient Messini)?

NAFPLIO -- Agamemmnon is my TOP recommend... has the #1 seafront location, if u are lucky u will get front balcony as we did... and a moderate-price hotel at that, Good luck!
GIALOVA -- too bac about Zoe... I first went there in 2005... not "discovered" yet ... I love it still ... there really arent other Gialova choices, so look at Pylos, but of course, beach doeosn't compare
HISTORIC SITES -- no guides available to my knowledge (not enough traffic) -- I think Mystras is do-able on your own with a bit of advance prep in a good guidebook - have u checked Blue Guides? Ancient Messine is alsmost tourist-free .. especially in May. I was lucky enough to be toured thru by an expat Brit who was a fellow Trip-Advisor DE & friend ... I wonder if there are local guides? This would need research.. again, good luck! It's a great place to explore.

We stayed overnight at the Messana Hotel just above Ancient Messene, really just a simple small guest house. Sunset and dawn over the ruins: spectacular. Fabulous buffet breakfast. No doubt the site would have been more educational with a live guide, but there was good signage to complement our guidebook.

We stayed at Akrolithi Boutique Hotel in Mani -- wonderful place. Its a 5 minute ride above Limeni. https://www.akrolithi.gr/
We stayed at Zoe Resort
and it was ok, nothing really spectacular. Dont feel you are missing out.
You didn't ask for itin comments, but of all the places on the Peloponnese we found the least interesting place was Monemvasia. I wished we had done just a day trip there.

We will be arriving at Monemvasia late afternoon so I booked 2 nights. Maybe will change to 1 night. Then we head to Limeni to the Petra Kai Fos hotel 5 miles away. Is 2 nights too much if we arrive at noon? We wanted to drive at sunset go Vathia.

We were there in May, so long days re the sun. We arrived mid afternoon and spent the rest of the day wandering around the island. Had a nice dinner, walked around some more and spent the night. Left the next morning and we felt we had seen and done all that we wanted. It was also pretty crowded esp at night.

I should have mentioned my TR on Fodors that has photos and describes what we did. It's post 101 for Monemvasia. I always find it diffcul tto figure out how much time in places. Have a great trip.
