Recommendations for a Spanish language school in Barcelona

Hi all,
I'm moving to Barcelona this summer and want to start off by doing a Spanish language course. A google search reveals a lot of schools but wondered if anyone could recommend one from personal experience? TIA

Hey Jonnygee! I went to one in Barcelona which was great...but it was in-person and I did it for 6 months. How long are you in Barcelona for? Do you have a visa?

But you come to live? If you come to live here I recommend you to take Catalan classes. You will learn the language of the region and at the same time you will learn Spanish. These courses are official and free: CPNL, EOI, and in adult education centers. The EOI are the official language schools. Here you have the list of all the existing ones.

Thanks for the link

Just an update on this, after much research i chose to do a 2 week course at a lovely school in the centre of BCN called Speakeasybcn.

It's a lovely school and they make learning the language really enjoyable, can thoroughly recommend.

As well as learning a lot about the language i met lots of people who I'm still in touch with. Lots of social events too during the course and some really interesting days out I'd never have thought of.

Can't recommend it enough. their site is Speakeasybcn.com

I'm actually thinking of going again. As I want to improve my reading and writing abilities...I work as a writer and thinking I could target the Spanish market if I can read and write properly.

Do you know of they can help like with Spanish professionally? Or do they do qualifications?

Hi Jonnygee I've found the school you were talking about and I like it offers the DELE courses. I'm considering a combined course that includes the DELE as I'd love to get C1 and C2. I like they have a load of reviews...but there's a lot of schools that are accredited by the Instituto Cervantes.

I went through the accredited schools that have the most reviews and looking into these five...can anyone who may have been to them tell me did you get qualifications, and did you focus on written as well as spoken Spanish? My spoken is pretty good it's just I want to be able to actually write properly.

I've got:

Speakeasy BCN
Expanish
Lingua Schools
Education First

Any personal recommendations be great!
