Recent Spam Attacks

Hello Fodorites,

As most of you are aware, the Fodor’s forum has been hit hard with recent and ongoing spam. The team at Fodor’s has been working to remove this spam and find a more systematic solution, but unfortunately we are not able to more fully resolve this until we migrate to a platform with more sophisticated anti-spam tools. We hope to do this soon, and will keep the community updated on our progress.

Meanwhile, we will do our best to implement a more effective manual spam-removal schedule, and we understand the stress this has caused many members of this community, and apologize for the delay in finding a permanent solution.

Spam sucks.

Best,

The Fodor's Team

I think we all appreciate your efforts and realize how hard it must be to block or you would have.

Thanks for the update!

Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your update, mkataoka!

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how many people realize that you are part of the Fodor's team, and I fear that this message may look, from the title, like "just another" complaint by someone who hasn't noticed the growing number of threads on the topic.

Could you, perhaps, repost as an announcement? Or copy and past your message into each of the complaint threads? I know that would be a pain, but it might be worth the effort to assuage some posters.... Just a thought.

Good luck!

It could be a lot worse--they could all be posts about Disneyland Paris. Those take up a whole lot of room on the tripadvisor.com France site, and they stay.
