Quiet hotel in Lisbon

I am looking for a quiet 3*/4* hotel in Lisbon but one that is not too far from restaurants & nightlife. Any suggestions?

I stayed at the Albergaria Senhora do Monte - fantastic views and very good for sleeping as rooms overlook the city and no main road underneath you at all. But you have to be prepared for some exceptionally steep hills. Fairly close to the old town where fishermen still live (but now being developed). A number of restaurants 15 minutes or so down the hill, but the main nightlife for music is another part of town. I was there about 5 years ago, but it still written up positively in guide books. So if you are fit and bringing sensible shoes, I would recommend it. If not stick to cabs or another district.

Frank,

We have reservations at the Hotel Tejo in May. Have you stayed there? Can you tell us all a little more about it and the location? Thanks for any input. Ranald:

I can give you a report on Tejo sometime late in may if you want? Will that be too late for you?

We stayed at the Hotel Sofitel in late December/Early January and enjoyed the location as well as the hotel itself. IIRC, the cost was somewhere near $150/nite, booked on the website....

Lisbon is a great city for walking, be sure to spend time in the Bairro Alto during the early evening hours...
Best wishes, and have a great trip!!

I've got a room booked at the Hotel Florida just a one minute walk to the metro stop at Marque do pombal athe the top of Ave La Liberdade. It's a 4 star best western and I booked it on line for $82 euro's a night and it includes breakfast. I've stayed at Senhora da Monte about 10 years ago for about $85 a night, but I'm sure that's closer to $100 a night now. The problem with that little hotel was it's location. A bit remote and you had to walk for a few blocks to the tram, or all the way down the hills to the nearest metro stop. The view from the roof top bar was great, but I think my location at the Hotel Florida will be easier on tired feet. I'm leaving in 10 days and I can hardly wait. I'll try to provide an after action trip report for all of you who have vacations planned in April/May/June. cheers

socal - Hotel Florida is in a fine location,,,,,,
It looked a little "tired" from the outside, but I'm sure as a 4-star it'll be fine for 85Euro/nite.
It's also right next to (actually, very very near) the Ritz, so you'll have no problems at all!
Best wishes for a great trip! Dave
