Questions about Transportation in Spain

Hi,I will be going to Spain in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone could answer my questions.

1. Does anyone know if there are shuttle services out of the new T4 terminal at Barajas? I know they have them at the other terminals, but as they don't have a RENFE office, I don't want to assume they have a shuttle office there as well. If they don't, I assume the only way to take a shuttle into Madrid would be to go to the other terminal.

2.I am aware that there is about a 4 euro charge to and from the airport in Madrid, and about a 2 euro charge from the train station in Madrid. But there are no charges per bag. Is this the case in all of spain, or just in Madrid? I will have to take a taxi from the train station to my hotel in Seville and Granada, and I will need to take a taxi to the airport in Granada. I would just like to know the rules ahead of time so I am prepared.

I looked these questions up on various boards and websites, but couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance.

i thought all taxis had supplements for luggage but i was told here differently.

i live in valencia and just always knew we were paying at least two supplements ( it seemed) on every airport-city taxi ride.

the supplements are about 1 euro per bag, when they exist, and then there is USUALLY a supplement for transportation station waiting.(2-3 euros)(airport, train, etc.). this helps off set the long wait most taxis have to pick up clients i guess.

there is also an evening supplement.

you can avoid this fee at train/bus stations if you walk away from the taxi STAND and catch your cab at next corner.

all the services found previously at the other terminals will be now at T4, of course, as it is now the MAIN terminal. so don't fret.

be careful when gettng into taxis at aiports to make sure the METER is visible and does not have money on it yet. if it does, do not get in, or get out and wave down police, and also write down his taxi license number which is displayed on card (on windshieldi think).

Thanks for responding, lincasanova. I read in Maribel's guides about the airport and train supplementals. She also said there were no extra charges for bags in Madrid, but it sounds like that may not be the case everywhere in Spain. Thanks for reassuring me about T4 as well. Sometimes you can start overplanning a vacation and worrying a bit too much about details, but I feel better now.

We took a taxi to our hotel in Seville (from the RR station) to the parador in Granada (from the RR station) and then from the parador to the airport in Granada.

We had luggage but I am very sorry that I cannot remember whether we paid a luggage supplement for those three rides or not.

If we did it would have been clearly marked on the taxi meter I suspect but I am mainly answering to assure you that in all three cases we felt the taxi rates were very reasonable.

Whatever you do, be sure to take a taxi to the Granada airport even though it can be done by public transport.

any supplements will be properly advertised on an official sticker that is on the passenger window of your vehicle.
