I'm flying KLM (Chicago to Amsterdam to Istanbul) next Friday the 2nd. Does anybody know if the flights, baggage claim, etc. are working on a regular schedule now after the fire.

I think they went back to normal the next day.

The fire was in a cargo area,nothing to do with passengers

I did fly two days after and air traffic was absolutly normal.

I saw the results of the fire when I left Istanbul this morning on my flight out. It was right outside our gate and you could see it from the windows of the waiting area. It's a bunch of burned wood and twisted metal. Flying is fine. No probs getting in or out.

Friends of mine flew in the actual night of the fire. They had to circle quite a bit until a runway became available further out from the airport. They had to take a shuttle from the airplane to the terminal. All in all, it wasnt too bad.
