Hi Ekscrunchy,

Look up several posts and you'll see mine on Casale Giancesare. It is great.

Is an afternoon enough time for the Temples and museum?

If we stay at Il Granaio, can I go over and photograph the Temples in the early morning or is there a way that they close them off to people?

I think a full afternoon would be enough. It would be enough for me, in any case. I think we spent about 3 hours at the site including the museum and I could have spent one more hour.

You can see and photograph the temples 24/7 from the perimeter gates (including those along Via Magna Graecia where the shops and restaurants are located).

Wrenwood: I don't know about that, but why don't you write to Il Granaio and ask them about early morning access for photos.....

I agree that a full afternoon is sufficient. As discussed above, you should go to the museum after the temples, because it is open much later than the site. They were very aggressive about not letting people in when the site was closed in the evening, so I would assume they do the same in the mornings. However, when we stayed at Il Granio, we went over about 9am and were there before any of the group tours arrived, which made it nice.
