Question about bringing wine into Ireland

I'm flying to Ireland later this week with a layover at CDG. Does anyone know about buying French wine at the airport and then bringing it into Ireland? I've tried looking on the Irish Tourist Bureau website to see how much alcohol we can bring in, but can't find any info. My husband and I would like to bring 4 bottles or so to enjoy while at our rental house in Ireland. Thanks!

There is no restriction on transfer of alcohol (FOR PERSONAL USE) within the UK. So keep on you evidence that you ought it in France; and try to make it less than a truck load; and you'll be fine

Meg,
Shelia is correct - you can bring as much as you can convince the customs people that you are able to consume. I fly regularly between Ireland and continent and they rarely check unless you are clinking your way through with a truck load,

Have a great holiday - the weather at the moment is hot (for Ireland at any rate eg 24 degrees celius) but they are forecasting it to break later this week

Cathy

Thanks all! I don't think I'll be bringing more than 4-6 bottles, which with 7 of us will only last about 2 days, but I don't think I'll be able to carry more than that. Cathy, it can stay hot as far as I'm concerned!

I think Shelia meant within the EU, not the UK.
