Hi Mary, my check literally went out this morning....it only goes to Marietta, a few miles from me. It should be here within a week, I would guess, by snail mail....Judy

Michele Erdvig writes "the Best little guide to Ireland" and it has gotten rave reviews in other posts on this site. She has her own site irelandyes.com. To give equal billing I also like Pat Preston's book Daytrips Ireland and her site (irelandexpert.com). Well enough plugs (except I also have Fodors Ireland '99 which is all eared up to)

Funny, I was under the impression that this was supposed to be a commercial-free forum. Am I mistaken?

There is nothing "commercial" about the postings here - it is simply fellow travelers helping each other out by suggesting GREAT travel and guide books. Now, if Michele or Pat were on here plugging their books with their address, giving you a discount for mentioning you saw "an ad" for it on this site, etc., that would be commercial - we are all just helping each other out here

Horray!! Michele sent my book to me in record time and I now have the 2001 edition. I love what I've read so far. Only one problem...my husband (who wouldn't read the other six guide books that I bought) has attached himself to Michele's book and won't let go. Should I be jealous? If I can pry it away from him I'll let everyone know what I think of the rest of it. Maybe I can get hold of it when he's sleeping? Stay tuned to my soap opera!! Jenny

I got the book away from my husband and am now bleary eyed with reading. This is perfect. Exactly what a guide book should be like. So comfortable and personal. Now I know my trip will be a success. If only I could fit in every one of the B&Bs...they all sound so good. Wish I had more vacation...Mt. Stewart sounds enchanting and the Giant's Causeway to die for! Maybe I can talk my husband into more time in Ireland. I really want to see the north too. Jenny
