Try: Enjoy Rome Tours.
Fax #: 39 06 445 0734
They have great walking tours for
different areas of Rome. Your family
could make up one group as they keep
their groups small. They are all
English speaking so every age can
understand them, and go at your
own pace.
We used Carrani Tours for a tour to Naples, Pompeii and Sorrento. We were quite pleased with the service and quality of the tour. I know they offer an extensive list of city and day tours, with brochures generally in hotel lobbies, with hotel pickup and drop off available.

For something inexpensive, try the city bus--number 110--tour. You buy the tickets at the bus station next to the train station. Marilyn

Rome is really easy to tour on one's own. There are lots of excellent sources that will get you up to speed easily ... so don't immediately jump to the conclusion you need a group tour, or private tour guide.

There's so much walking (strolling) that's enjoyable in Rome, I'd really suggest breaking the group up into ability and interest groups. Even if all are equally physically robust and interested smaller groups will be more manageable anyway, both for seeing the sights, taking refreshments at sidewalk tables, and you may consider the same for meals.

If you'd like an introduction to the sights and a plan to see the most important ones efficiently see
www.twenj.com/romesights.htm
