Pub lunch near Heathrow

Have five hour layover at Heathrow. Can anyone recommend a local Pub for lunch near the airport?
Thank you
Frank

Frank - Whenever I have a few hours at Heathrow I usually just go to the Weatherspoons pub in Terninal 2 (top floor). Comfortable enough ...

If you don't have transport, an alternative would be to catch the underground one or two stops down the line ...

You might have time to get a bus to Windsor - but it could be risky traffic-wise.

I agree, I wouldn't bother leaving the airport. Heathrow has a great selection of spots to eat, take a shower, whatever. I don't remember the name or terminal but am guessing the pub mentioned above is where I also spent my time!

I consider 3 hours my minimum for a Heathrow transfer, so don't see 5 hrs as all that much time to kill.

The Ostrich Inn in Colnbrook is about 7 miles/15 mins by taxi from Heathrow.

It's a very old pub with beams and nice menu.

Wow, thanks for the recommendation for 'The Ostrich'.

It looks like a very nice place and has an interesting menu and wine list. I happen to know people whom I visit who live not too far away and am thinking of taking them there on my next visit to London (They've never mentioned the place before so I don't think they've been yet).

Great info. Thanks to all. Wonder if a cabbie will take me to the Ostrich since it's such a short ride.??
Thanks to all

I've taken cabs to my office which is also about 15mins away from LHR(I sometimes park my car at the office and take a taxi to LHR). Might be better off calling the Ostrich to arrange a taxi? Be careful of lunchtime traffic as I went in the evening.

If you try it, let us know how it works out time-wise.
