Provence Questions
We plan to spend a couple of nights in Provence while driving from Grenoble to Cinque Terre. We have been to Nice/Monaco/Eze while on cruise shore excursions. We were thinking of spending 2 nights near/outside Aix en Provence. Can anyone recommend any B&Bs or hotels in the 100E or less per night range? Also since we will have very limited time there what would you recommend that are must sees?
Thanks for all your help!

go to www.provenceweb.com
you can find B&Bs when you click on a village
and suggestions of what to see.
I agree with Stu that staying near Avignon is preferable to Aix for seeing lots of things like Roman ruins, amphatheatres,
daily markets.

I prefer St Remy to either Avignon or Arles as a base, although I never tried Aix. St Remy is a fun little town, just enough going on to have a nice time wandering around in the evening (and fabulous if you are a Van Gogh fan), central to everything for day tripping, and you can find great places with parking at very good rates. We had particularly good luck at the Hotel du Soleil -- good rates, breakfast, short walk to town center, parking, pool, and the most beautiful wisteria trees you have ever seen.

Thanks so much for your quick replies. Since we have such a short time available and have never been to Aix, we'll probably spend most of our time there.
As far as accommodations, I've been looking at Villa Valbelle in Meyreuil and La Bruissanne which is in Le Tholonet. Does anyone have any comments on either of these -- which location etc. would be preferable or has anyone stayed in either?
Thanks again.

If you can't comment on the B&Bs, perhaps you have some information the towns/villages in which they're located, which one is better located to Aix etc?
Another B&B possibility is Bastide de Puget which is also in Meyreuil.
