This map shows you wer the Pont sunline is near rougon. The Paradou I only know from it's web site and it looks very charming. We stayed one tim in Mousters at th Bastide de Moustiers and another time at a place in La Palud s. Verdob.

I'm the wrong person to ask about the drive around the Gorge du Verdon--I hate heights and narrow winding roads, and from what I've heard the Gorge drive features both. The drive across the Route Napoléon isn't bad as long as you can take it slowly; it's definitely room-for-two-cars only. The reward is the pretty little town of Castleanne on the way to Grasse.

Concerning the Gorge du Verdon, traffic won't be a concern in June. It's July and August when the area really gets mobbed with European tourists. But even then, it's nothing like the coast. And as for the drive, remember, you can always just do a part of it and then turn around and come back out without doing the whole loop. This would give you a nice feel for it and avoid too much driver anxiety.
Underhill has a great suggestion with the Abbey de Thoronet. As much as I love Senanque, of the 3 sisters, it's thoronet who I find the most beautiful.
