Since you're on AOL, have you tried the France travel board there? Awesome resource. Also, Keyword France, then community, then Francophile Board. If you post inquiries there (and search previous responses), you'll acquire a wealth of information. Another good resource is www.bparis.com.

You might try Les Baux de Provence, beautiful hill village (but very touristy), Arles : Van Gogh's cradle, tons of Roman remains, and gateway to La Camargue, a - relatively - wild area with horses, marshes, a gypsy culture. <BR>Otherwise, if you want to be in the heart of Haute-Provence, try Manosque, birthplace of French writer Jean Giono, the real thing, not a lot of tourists. If you want more information, e-mail me before 1 PM ET today, I'll leaving tomorrow for 10 days !
