You might try Les Baux de Provence, beautiful hill village (but very touristy), Arles : Van Gogh's cradle, tons of Roman remains, and gateway to La Camargue, a - relatively - wild area with horses, marshes, a gypsy culture. <BR>Otherwise, if you want to be in the heart of Haute-Provence, try Manosque, birthplace of French writer Jean Giono, the real thing, not a lot of tourists.
