Private Tours in Rome

I would like to do a half day guided walking tour in Rome? Any name suggestions? What can I expect to pay?

Try Scala Reale, there have been many recommendations for them on this site. Prices for 1/2 day guided walking tours seem to start at 80,000 lire (+ $20 booking fee) and go up. Web page is www.scalareale.org

Hi, I just returned from Rome and had the best private tour guide. Giulia Bernardini. You can e-mail her [email protected]. Her price is reasonable for the quality of her tour. She is interesting and informative. We loved her walking tour, and she does many. e-mail me with any questions. littlear@hotmail

I have done a Scale Reale semi-private tour to Hadrian's Villa. It was very nice. Since I have a degree in Architectural History, I found it more interesting than most tours, because Historian, Architects, and general Scholars are your tour guides.

What I enjoyed about the Scala Reale Ancient Rome walk was the small size of the group (6) and the enthusiastic, very well-prepared and knowledgable presentations by our guide Steve. The four-hour tour was worth every penny.
