Private tour guide with car in Athens

HELLO,

Can anyone recommend a tour guide that can pick up 6 people 45 minutes outside of Athens and give a tour to the main tourist sites in Athens and take the six to a great Greek restaurant in Athens for lunch?

We had this service in 2014 with a man named George but I have lost his information and he may not even be working anymore.

He was a gem and so my daughter is wanting to replicate the experience.

Thank you so much!

Contact Fantasy Travel and Dolphin-Hellas Travel, both agencies in Athens and both more than capable of setting you up with someone qualified.

George (Yiorgos) is one of the most common men’s names in Greece, but the George you are probably thinking of has grown into a large company called George’s Taxis. He has been relentlessly plugged in Matt Barrett’s greecetravel.com website. The drivers aren’t licensed guides, so can’t accompany you on the sites.

The two tour agencies mentioned by brotherleelove are also shown on Matt Barrett’s website, and are authentic travel agents, so would give you more than a taxi service.

Licensed Tour guides will not be able to drive and pick you up outside of Athens, they will actually meet you somewhere in the centre and start the tour from there.
It sounds as you'd need a vehicle with driver and a guide. Contact more than these two travel agencies asking for a quotation, as prices can vary.

Thank you all for the information. I have passed it along to my daughter in the hopes they can find something that works for them.

I so appreciate being able to ask these questions on Fodors!
