Private Tour Guide Recommendations, London, Paris, Amsterdam

I am traveling to London, Paris and Amsterdam late this year and would like a recommendation for a private tour guide in each city.

Thank you

I would check your hotel concierge in each city. They usually have recommendations of excellent local guides.

You might look here: https://www.ricksteves.com/tours/guides-marketplace

In London you might also try here: https://www.walks.com/other-tours/private-walks/

Is Michael Osman still guiding in Paris?
If so, he's excellent. We had him 2003.

I think that in France, most of the tour guides are working in supermarkets now or delivering meals with Deliveroo or one of the other companies. Will it be possible to lure them back from these dream jobs?

If you want to stop over in Antwerp on your way to Amsterdam I'd be happy to show you around. My fees are very reasonable
And there are some fantastic restaurants waiting to open, or opened just before the pandemic. I'll wave my fee for lunch at Zilte or Le Pristine..

More details please -- what are you actually looking for? Are you just looking for guides to take you around for a day, or do you want someone to organize all your activities? Is this for a group or just you? What sort of budget?

There are great walking tours, most museums and major sites have in-house free or inexpensive tours, and all three cities are definitely easy to do on your own

You asked the exact same question in February. Why are you asking it again?

It would help us to actually assist you if you responded to some the questions we asked on your original thread Private Tour Guide Recommendations, London, Paris, Amsterdam

I'm assuming that the OP (original poster) is affluent, but technically naive.
So, OP, consider this:
  • if you just want to see the basic sights of Paris for an afternoon, for example, there are hop-on/hop-off bus tours
  • or, do you want an all-day tour?
  • then there is the consideration of your likes and dislikes:
    • do you love museums, or hate them?
    • are you turned off by historic buildings/areas, or does history somewhat interest you?
    • do you like to explore outdoor markets, or does that thought bore you to tears?
    • are you a foodie, or is a McDonald's your "cup of tea"?
    • is your purpose in a tour the desire to tell your friends what things you saw in, say, Paris, or is your purpose to experience what life is like as a Parisian? 2 diametrically opposed purposes, each valid
I could go on, at length, but the above is enough to give you a taste of the questions a real personal guide would ask. I can think of an excellent personal guide in one of your target towns that wouldn't be able to find time for you if you couldn't answer them.....why would he invest his time tailoring a tour for you if you wouldn't invest YOUR time in identifying your own desires?

And, if you won't invest your time in expanding on your needs/desires/interests/likes/dislikes, why should posters on this forum invest their time in helping you, which they would be otherwise happy to give advice?

tom's and janisj's questionsmmake sense. You also need to ask, for how long, transport provided and specialisms required. The guy who knows Amsterdam's sex haunts may not be the guy who knows their tulip fields so well.

I would like someone to take us around for a day(s) and assist with selecting the best sites to visit.
