Private Drivers in Provence?

Does anyone have experience with private drivers based in Aix-en-Provence? Looking for day trips from there in September. Thanks, TDudette

Trying again for an answer about a private driver. Will be staying in Aix for a week. Looks like we can train to many spots but a car will be better for some of the hill towns and we don't want to drive ourselves. Has anyone ever hired a local person? Please share info if you have.

I think if get on google you will probably find some private driver.

Also, if you are staying in a hotel, you might e-mail them and ask if they know of any private drivers.

Good luck..........

Thanks gracejoan3 for your good advice. I'm looking for people's actual recommendations here.

TDudette:

I've been reading these boards for years and can't recall anyone mentioning hiring a private driver in Provence. That doesn't mean it didn't happen, but the vast majority of people here drive through Provence or figure out public transportation. That's probably why you're not getting many responses - that and it's a weekend, and vacation time, when lots of folks are already driving through Provence.

All the major car-rental companies can provide a car with a driver. Try autoeurope.com for starters, but also europcar.com as well. Then there are Hertz and Avis.

Ah Ha! Thanks Underhill! I never even thought about that being an aspect of car rental.
