Private driver in Ireland

Back in the late 90s, when Internet travel arranging was in its infancy, I did a trip with my sainted Ma to Ireland for which we had a private driver that carried us around the Island over the course of a week or so, and we stayed at castles and manors - Including Ballymaloe House. The agency through which I booked is no longer in business, but I see several ads for similar services. We're looking at the last of the niece/nephew graduation trips this year, two brothers, probably traveling starting mid to late July. DH was enamored of Dublin last month, would like to visit again. I'm thinking maybe a week in Ireland - not just Dublin - then on to Rome and Florence. I can handle the planning for the Italy portion, but would love to get some recommendations from folks who have booked drivers in Ireland along with itinerary suggestions. Keep in mind DH has limited mobility so things like walking tours are out.
Thanks!

We employed a few driver and driving tour services on our 2023 trip because of our back issues. Several of our drivers told us they often became the drivers for an entire week or so of visiting guests picking up people at various airports and so on. I detailed those experiences in my trip report, Always in Search of Our Local, but here is the down-and-dirty of the drivers we used:
  • Out of Westport, our driver was Mary O'Toole of O'Toole Taxis
  • From Galway to Dingle and then from Dingle to Killarney we used Begley's Dingle Shuttle Bus. Diarmuid, one of the family owners, was our first driver; Michelle was our second.
  • Colm of Dingle Slea Head Tours gave us our half-day tour of the Dingle area. The company owner, Rory, was extremely responsive when I made my first contacts.
  • Mary G drove us all around the Ring of Kerry, etc from Killarney.
  • Mary G's buddy Dave also carted us from Killarney to Cork. But I don't have his number.
FYI--In a thread reply, I once posted a list of all the drivers and companies I contacted, but I can't find that thread. Sorry. All I can tell you is that I scoured Fodors and other resources via Google under various search terms and just kept contacting, contacting, contacting until I got somewhere.

Happy Planning,
AZ
