Tat,
So, you're a Gemini. They tell us that us gemini's all have the twin. Well, my twin must have been an explorer in another life, because he absolutely loves to travel.
Have a great trip. I notice that another Fodorite is recommending refrigerator magnets. I really like that idea.

Tat, get a Bop-It (toy) or Bop-It Extreme for the kids, ages about 7-15. We can't get them here and they are fun and unusual. I teach 5-6-7th grade English and the kids love them! You'll probably have to teach them how to play...
Skip the CA wines, there are lots of CA wines in Europe already.
Weird idea, but the slice & bake cookie rolls (chocolate chip) make great gifts - they are really convenient and unavailable in Europe.

Our friends in France are always glad to be given brownie mix, complete with the right-size pan, as well as pancake mix and real maple syrup. The lady of the house likes American Indian style jewelry; the daughter likes inexpensive costume jewelry, and the boys like American rock CD's (quite expensive in France). American maps are popular too.
