PRAGUE OR CESKY KRUMLOV

I have 2 free days to be spent in the Czech Rep.I was planning on spending it in Prague however many people have mentioned how much they have enjoyed Cesky krumlov .Not interested in operas so which would be the better place to visit given my limited time.

It's hard to say without knowing what your interests are, but there is plenty to do in Prague besides opera! There is little to do in Cesky Krumlov, however--it might be fine for two days, I suppose, if you are a very laid back traveler, one day was enough for me, it's just a very small town with little in it. I would probably choose on convenience related to my other travel plans if you have no personal preference on things you want to see in either one.

Hi Ray, even without Opera, I would choose Prague. I was in both 2 yrs ago (how time flies) and enjoyed both but if I had to choose, I would choose Prague. If you like museums, Prague has a wonderful museum of Science and Technology that shows how advanced they were as an industrial power in the 30's. The Astrological clock in old town square is not to be missed. Also of interest is the old Jewish quarter with a cemetery that was the only place that Jews could be burried for over 300 years. Wandering the streets is also interesting. The buildings are very colorful and the architecture is also very interesting.
Regards,
Art
Hi As this is your first visit to Czech Rep. I woiuld recommentd Prague strongly. If you are interested in the halocaust while there, I would recommend a day trip by guided tour to Theirenstadt, whic was a Jewish ghetto in WW2. If not there is plenty to do in Prague. On your next visit however, visit Csesky Krumlov. I spent 3 days there two years ago also. It is a UNESCO protected city.
alan

I agree with the above posters. Prague is a beautiful city and you can easily spend 3-4 days there. Cesky Krumlov is a medieval city and also worth a visit. But if I had only 2 days- Prague is my choice. You will not regret it.

Ray,I agree with all the above,Prague is a wonderful city.I was there last year. The buildings are awesome, and you must walk over the Charles bridge, and see all the various artists at work, but do keep your money in a safe place, because Prague is known as the pickpocket Capital of the world. Have a great time.
