Prague Flooding
To go or not to go!! Anyone there who can report back? We leave in 3 weeks but given the damage and museums being closed, etc. we are thinking we should probably see if Czech Air will drop us off somewhere else! We would appreciate any advice to help us decide how to handle this. We planned to end up in Budapest by end of Sept. and that may still be O.K. given the time span-we'll see.

See http://www.praguemonitor.com/ctk/?id=20050819E00935;
story=Czech-Republic-may-still-be-unprepared-for-extensive-floods
(note: you will have to "put this URL back together"; I put a <<LF>> in it for line break reasons)
While the country could still be at risk for some flooding, Prague seems lile on place you do not need to re-route (<i>from</i due to the possibility of any flooding.
2002 was, of course, bad, though I could not tell it in May 2004
Best wishes,
Rex

Thanks, Rex, but it is pretty confusing,i.e. take a look at
www.bbc.co.uk where they report that Kampa Island is entirely flooded along with many other sad reports. Also, you might check www.bignewsnetwork.com
These give an entirely different picture than what your URL reported, or rather did not report. Thanks, anyway--I will just wait a couple of days and see.

Either my brain is experienceing a dysfunction or yours is. At the risk of making you feel stupid, are you sure that you haven't stumbled across reports of the Prague flood - - of August, <b>three years ago</b>?
For example...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/2192288.stm
Otherwise, I am not finding anything about (current) flooding in Prague on either of the websites you mentioned!
