Potty stops on Autobahn?!?
We'll be traveling from Rudesheim, Germany to Salzburg, Austria on Easter Sunday...with kids. What can we expect in the way of facilities being open along the autobahn at that time (especially being Easter)? Gas stations? Restaurants? Rest areas?
Just want to prepare ourselves! Thanks!

There's nothing wrong with your question (I'm European).
Everything will be open at the rest stops along the autobahns (expect to pay for using the toilet - usually 50 pfennigs or so). Everything else except for gas stations, stores at train stations and airports will be closed on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

Also be prepared for the not uncommon situation in holiday periods, where you get caught in a traffic jam on the autobahn and cannot make it to the next rest-stop in time, or are just stuck in the one spot for hours because of an accident up ahead. This can be very tricky, especially with kids on board.
Always have food and water with you in the vehicle, and an emergency ahhh receptacle.
