Positano - Villa Rosa room 18 (pics)
Several people have suggested asking for room 18 when staying at the Villa Rosa in Positano. My wife and I just stayed in room 18 last month. The links below show three pictures of room 18. It was beautiful.

Beautiful pics, thanks so much for sharing them! Which building is your hotel specifically....is it the yellow one right at the base of the hill in the pics following the ones showing the rooms, or is it higher up??
thanks again

rayoflight: We visited Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, and Capri. We then stayed in Sorrento for a couple of nights and went to Pompeii.
Barb: The yellow hotel is not Villa Rosa. That place is a restaurant that is beach level. The Villa Rosa is probably a few hundred feet above the sea.
If you look at the following picture, you can see how high up the Villa Rosa sits. The picture was taken from our balcony.

If you look at the next picture, you can see the church that is actually on the beach. That picture was also taken from our balcony.

The walk to the beach from the hotel is about 15 minutes (IF you don't stop at all the wonderful shops, cafes, etc. on the way down).
When you leave the hotel, you're on the main street that has many shops and restaurants. When you cross the street, you make your way down to the beach by following a nice winding path that is full of all sorts of shops and cafes.
Any other questions, just ask.

Bluefan: Yes those are pictures from Cafe Positano. Great place except that they won't let you sit by the sea unless you are eating dinner. We just stopped for a snack and drinks one afternoon and they said we had to sit on the restaurant side (pic 188) even though it was only about 3:00 pm.
Rayoflight: my vote if you want to accomplish this in a single day would be Pompeii and Positano. Sorrento is a much larger city than Positano. Positano is small and you could visit Pompeii for a few hours and then spend the rest of the day and evening in Positano.

Loved your photos of Villa Rosa. We stayed in room 29, 2 floors down from you from 22 to 26th May. Was there much noise from people walking past your room at night in the corridor, or using the stairs? We had a terrific terrace which you can see in one of your photos with an apricot, banana and lemon trees, as well as a garden bed with roses, bougainvillea and other flowers. We had many picnics there! Anyway, your photos make me want to go back!

MarkY,
I want to see your photos because next year I am planning a trip to the Amalfi Coast.
Unfortunately I am not able to get through.
Is the hotel very expensive? is close to city transportations?
