Positano - Villa Rosa Feedback

I have read the Tripadvisor reviews. Has anybody taken their children (mine are 14 and 8) to Positano and stayed in the Villa Rosa family flat? I realize that many people honeymoon in Positano. Positano is my dream, and I don't want to miss the opportunity when we visit Rome during Spring Break. We would only stay there three nights.

Or should I book the new Crowne Plaza in Sorrento. I understand that there might be more to do with Sorrento as a base, but some reviews have wistfully stated they should have stayed in Positano.

We intend to hire a driver. Is the drive similar to San Francisco to Carmel, CA in terms of height, cliffs, turns, etc.?

Thank you very much.

Hi til,

Are you planning on a driver from Rome to Positano, Naples to Positano or along the Amalfi Coast Road?

Any suggestions are appreciated. I thought we would hire a driver from Naples to Positano. If you have a better option, please let me know. Are travel agent? I saw your info on a previous post. Thanks.

Since Positano is your "dream", base there. Your stay is only 3 nights, and you'll find plenty to do.

I can recommend the wonderful driver we've often used for pickup in Naples or Rome, tours of the coast, and tours of Pompeii. His name is Giovanni Gargiulo, and he can be reached at tourofitaly.com. Giovanni is based in Sorrento, and a charming guide who speaks English very well.

Enjoy Positano- one of my favorite places on Earth!

While the drive is similar to the drive from SF to Carmel, along the Amalfi, it is MUCH more scenic, and, in a word, awesome! Some of the cliffs rise much higher along this part of the Italian coast.
