Positano in Italy?

Positano in Italy?
My husband, my 10-years old son and I are planning a trip to Rome and to the Amalfi-coast. Now I wonder if there is anyone of you, who have stayed at the island of Positano? Plaese let me know.
Love Anne, Sweden

Positano is not an island, but a beautiful town on the Amalfi coast. Could you be thinking of Capri by any chance? It is off the Amalfi coast.

If it is really Positano, or even if it is Capri, please do a search on this forum. There are SO many discussions on your question that it would be impossible to summarize them all. Positano is great, Capri is great. Or maybe you mean the island of Procida in Naples Bay? All three have been discussed on this forum (Procida less than the others). If you still have questions after reading them, please come back. We'll be happy to respond.

Hi Anne,

I'm not so sure your 10 yr. old son would find the town of Positano that interesting. Although the town is on the water, the beach is rocky. In my opinion, a 10yr. old boy would probably be bored, but maybe your hotel would have a swimming pool.

We just came back from Positano with our 11 year old daughter and enjoyed it tremendously. We had taken her when she was 6 and this was a return trip. She played in the pool at our hotel and the beach. She had fun looking for stuff on the beach, eating granita and virtually everything else we did. We took the boat to Capri one day which was also fun for her.
