Positano hotel help -- eden roc?
Has anyone heard of the Eden Roc hotel in Positano? If not, are there any other nice hotels that anyone can recommend. The San Pietro and Le Sirenuse are booked but we would like a high end hotel (for sept/oct 2000) Please help!Thank you.

Yes. Have not stayed at the Eden Roc, but I've sat in their lobby waiting to meet someone who was there. Seems like a very nice hotel. But the Eden Roc is located on the "upper" side of the road, unlike Le Sirenuse which is on the "lower" side directly overlooking the Mediterranean. <BR> <BR>I've visited Positano twice - once stayed at La Fenice and the other time, stayed at the Villa Rosa. Both are nice B&B's but definitely not high end.

Couple of years ago, we stayed at Albergo(Hotel) l'Ancora, I believe right next to the Sirenuse, on the lower side of the road overlooking Positano's Duomo, beach and the Mediterranean. Access right off the road, but you almost miss it driving by. Absolutely outstanding. Not quite as expensive as next door, I seem to recall, but we could look down on their dinning room. Ours was pretty good, though, nothing to complain about. Rooms seemed new, bathrooms luxurious, and 9 foot doors opened to your own personal veranda. Pictures we took from the veranda rival postcards. I would highly recommend it to you. Good luck.

Laurie - <BR> <BR>And a few more suggestions. (Although I can only afford the more budget minded hotels, I do keep an eye on the 4 & 5 star spots in Positano - some day, some day, maybe . . .). When I stayed at the Villa Rosa, I walked across the street to sit & have drinks in the lounge of Le Sirenuse (bella, bella). <BR> <BR>Anyhow, I also wanted to suggest a 4 star hotel, the Hotel Le Agavi. Their website is http://www.leagavi.it/agaven.html or you can also book & get info in them thru http://www.hotelbook.com/static/welcome_14438.html#top. <BR> <BR>My real fantasy place would be to stay at a Villa - this website has wonderful pics of the 'Villa Amore' - looks fabuloso, and maybe another poster might have a personal experience to relate. <BR>VILLAS IN POSITANO FOR VACATIONS, HOLIDAYS, RENTALS <BR>http://www.omnia.addr.com/VillaAmore.htm <BR>

- <BR>I may have to correct myself - another one website lists 'Le Agavi' hotel as a 5 star; either 4 or 5, it looks like a good accommadation. <BR>'Positano on the Web' - http://www.positanonline.it/welcome_eng.html <BR>is a good site that lists many of the hotels, restaurants, etc. <BR> <BR> <BR>
