Positano

I am deciding between 2 hotels in Positano for the end of August beginning of September '99. Any info on the 2 would be great, including differences and benefits of either location. Covo dei Saraceni and the Poseidon. Thanks so much in advance

Can not find further information on either, however check out www.hotelguide.ch/ search city of Positano and all hotel listings, and
www.hotelstravel.com/ ---www.starnet.it/
Good surfing, Richard of Hickory Hills, Il.....

Hi Liz, I know you're asking about the two hotels you mentioned, but may I make another suggestion. The Hotel San Pietro is another excellent choice. I don't want to confuse you, but maybe you might want to check it out.
Yep Jeff, I know about the San Pietro, and there is still a big difference between $500/night and $250/night. Since this isn't my honeymoon and I am staying for 2 weeks, I think the 4 stars will have to do. I know people who have stayed there and it looks fab. We are staying at a great place in Ravello though - the Palazzo Sasso- for the splurge. Thanks for your help.

I was in Positano in October and stayed at a different hotel, but saw both the Covo and Poseidon. From what I've read on the net they are both nice hotels. Positano is built on the side of the mountain, below the main road and cascades down to the sea. The Poseidon is about 1/2 way down and the Covo is down on the beach.
We had dinner, one night, at the Covo and it was very good .... about $80 for two with wine. We also had lunch at the Chez Black also on the beach for about $40. There are also other places to eat as well.
The Poseidon is more central and is more convenient for the many little shops.
