Portugal and Spain Help
Hi we are travelling Portugal and Spain and would like some feed back on possible itinerary. We will have a hire car. Just wondering if we are spending enough time in small places.
5 nights in Porto (after walking last 7 days of Camino Santiago De Compostela)
1 night Nazare
1 night Evora
4 nights in Seville - day trips to Cordoba, Granada and Gibraltar (ideas around this would be very much appreciated)
1 night Alburfeira
5 nights Lisbon
Thanks in advance

I think your plan for doing a long day trip every day from Sevilla could be unenjoyable. Not only will have 2-hour plus drives each way, you will be arriving at your sightseeing destination with the daytime heat kicking in. Most of the locals will be heading indoors to escape the sun, and you'll be trudging around hot places for hours seeing few people but other tourists & souvenir sellers. Just as the tapas hour begins, you'll be back on the road.
I would probably drop Gilbraltar from the itinerary and split the 4 nights in Sevilla between 2 Sevilla and 2 in Granada, maybe seeing Cordoba in the morning on the way to Granada. Doing a night tour of the Alhambra is particularly rewarding.

When are you doing this?
I would be inclined to drop Spain and just do more of Portugal. You would have to cope with a lot of travel. You don't want a car in Porto or Lisbon, and probably not in Seville. Also, the evening visit to the Alhambra is magical, and I doubt you could do that on a day trip.
Have you looked into using trains in Spain? (See seat61.com for train travel in Europe.) Have you looked at how long the road trips would be? (See viamichelin.com )
Hope the Camino goes well!

Stay in fantastic Sevilla and do a day-trip to Córdoba, the most advanced city in Europe arond 1000 AD. Gibraltar and Granada would be very, very long daytrips from Sevilla, and tons of things to do and experience in Sevilla itself, the queen of the cities in the South of Spain.
