Portugal/15 days

Hello!

Is there enough to see and do in Portugal during a 15-day stay. I would like to combine both city and countryside.

Thanks.
Ross,I have done 2 trips of 15 days each
to Portugal and still have not done it
all. But, I did include Seville into
the first trip---a good idea for any
south Portugal itinerary. I think you
will like Portugal--when do you plan to
go? The Minho of northern Port. is one
of the last places in Europe thay is
still authentic and unspoiled. Contact
me if you want sosme details.

HAVE been to Portugal many times, the last one we stayed 30 days and still had not our fill. We mostly concentrated on the Algarve, which is a lovely alternative to the dreary winters hereabouts, but also love Sintra area, and the north region. It is one of the best kept secrets in Europe, and most folks we met speak, or at least understand, English. Portugese is a difficult language to learn, from the sound of it. Lots of "shh" sounds.
Spend some time on the Estoril Coast, the Cascais and Sintra area just west of Lisbon. Beautiful area, my favorite, more so than the Algarve. All of Portugal is very cheap, and would be easy to see in l5 days.

Depending on the time of year you go, I can highly recommend both the Minho region and the east/central area near Marvao and the Spanish border. Few tourists, wonderful people (so helpful), many nice small towns, great scenery and great food. Don't let people scare you about driving in Portugal! It's not bad at all. The roads are good and well marked.

The Minho region has far fewer tourists than the Algarve. No condos, golf courses or fish 'n chip restaurants.

Tomar is not far from Lisbon, It is a small, well preserved old city with the Castle of the Knights Templar. Also small Jewish Museum.
