Portofino/Cinque Terre

I think I posted this incorrectly the first time so I'll try again. I'll be on a cruise in April, and one of the ports for a day is Portofino. Is it feasable to take the train from there and enjoy Cinque Terre's towns? What would be the travel timeframe?

Since you're not getting any answer yet, maybe I top this with a semi answer:
I don't remember any train station in Portofino but I know there used to be a bus to Santa Margherita Ligure where you can connect to Cinque Terre. I went there in the 80's so let's hope for more current & detailed info.

Hi

DAX is right, there is a bus from Portofino to SML. From SML there is a train to the Cinque Terre. It will take about an hour. I think there are also ferries to Cinque Terre from Portofino and SML. I'm sure someone else can answer that. Enjoy!

There is a boat that goes between Portofino and SML. Way nicer than a bus! From there it's about 1 hour by train to the furthest south Cinque Terre village, Riomaggiore. If you are not planning on hiking the whole distance, you could hike a little, see the other villages by train.

We stayed in SML and enjoyed a long, lazy lunch next to the marina in Portofino, lots of wine with lunch is highly recommended!

Buon viaggio!
